KANPUR: So far we used to notice garbage stuffed lanes, spots and defiled places where rainwater enters and creates havoc. But the waterlogging into the garbage disposal plant at Bhau Singh area has created devastation. Pandu river's water has entered the plant thereby stopping the manure making process.

In the absence of proper drainage, the stagnant water causes an unbearable stench to the villagers of Sarai Meeta, Baduapur, Bhau Singh and other adjoining areas. They were facing much trouble in bearing the putrefying garbage stench reac hing their nose.

The ILFS company which manages the plant through its representative S Sekhar stated that overfilled nullah water has entered the plant area. It was being cleaned out.

Meanwhile, Vinod Kumar, president of Sanyukt Vahan Chalak Sangh expressing his concern at the water logging said that the garbage laden trucks  enot reaching whethnotping ground so the garbage was being downloaded there in an improper way.

It was after about five long years, the disposal plant has been connected with the electricity supply. This has raised the plant's capacity to produce manure from three and a half metric tonnes to six and a half metric tonnes.

As the plant exists near the Pandu river, it has waterlogged due to the overflowing nullah. Therefore the machines were not operational.
