India: NN cares little of poor hygienic conditions in its Wards

 Garbage in India

Kanpur: Garbage remains uncleared at defiled corners and the Nagar Swasthya Adhikari remains inactive too. What is the use of the fleet of vehicles bought for lifting the garbage, from dumped spots? No satisfactory response comes from the officials concerned. It was also said that the employees were on strike.

But is it the only reason behind the prevailing unsanitary conditions. One MP and several Corporators have demanded the resignation of Nagar Swasthya Adhikari.

The stench is unbearable, says a resident looking at the scattered garbage near his house. The garbage removal during the rainy season must be undertaken every day, maintains an old man remembering his days when the Bhisti used to sprinkle water on the roads. Further, another resident putting his views upon the careless attitude of the Corporation's Ward office stated, "The people bleed but politicians pay genuinely no attention on their basic grudge." There are 110 Wards in the city areas but barring a few Wards including Civil Lines, insanitation prevails all around the localities. There was an indication of action against sanitary inspectors.
