KANPUR: A heavy crocodile dragged a girl into the river in Sajeti village of Tehsil Ghatampur under Kanpur Nagar District. Villagers and a team of Forest Department attempted to search the girl but efforts remained ineffective. Neither the crocodile nor the girl was eventually traced.
According to the news reports, a ten-year-old girl Anshika D/O Uma Shanker Mallah R/O Birbal Ka Akbarpur hamlet along with her younger sister and three friends had gone to take a bath in the river. She was standing on the bank of the river. Within seconds the crawling reptile stealthily came out and pulled the girl into the river water.
Her younger sister and friends got frightened to see the crocodile. When they informed of the matter to the villagers they threw a large net to track down the girl. In the meantime, the police also contacted the forest department team to find the girl but in vain.
