India: Jhakarkatti Bus Depot needs basic facilities for passengers

Kanpur: Inspection, order, maintenance and plan are the appropriate words swirling for the past four years.Required improvements of the inter-state Jhkarkatti bus depot remains a distant dream.

However, R Singh, ARM, Bus Depot, said that the development work got halted due to the bridge construction. Passengers' troubles were resolved from time to time. A letter for maintenance of the outside road was sent to the officers concerned.

While, the passengers react: The interstate bus depot is only in the name. There is nothing like facilities for the passengers here. There is a need for improvement.

Just a step or two from the entry gate of this bus depot there are allegedly set up various unauthorised shops. Along with this tempo and e-rickshaw stand also run.

More than dozens of autos, tempos and the e-rickshaw remain parked on the entry gate of the depot. This causes troubles to the quiet passengers and no action is taken by the authorities concerned, it has been reported.

What to say of seats inside the bus depot, the passengers do not find space to stand even. Waterlogging and muck force them to wait outside the depot.

The buses move through the old bridge's underpass on GT Road. Waterlogging is a scene on the road. Even the road is reported to have been started caving in.

The bus turns a bit slant and neither the roadways nor the municipal authorities pay attention, said news reports. In a nutshell, mismanagement grips this interstate bus depot wholly.
