Armenia: CSTO mission to arrive in Armenia on September 15 — Foreign Minister

YEREVAN, September 14. /TASS/: Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that a mission of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will arrive in Armenia on September 15.

"We expect that the CSTO mission will arrive in Armenia as early as tomorrow. Our request was duly discussed at the CSTO," the top diplomat said speaking during the government hour at the parliament on Wednesday.

Armenia, Azerbaijan trade blame for clashes that killed 155

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) — Armenia and Azerbaijan accused each other of instigating new rounds of shelling across their borders Wednesday and reported that 155 troops from the two countries have died since hostilities reignited between the two longtime adversaries this week.

Armenia’s Defense Ministry accused Azerbaijani forces of launching combat drones in the direction of the Armenian resort town of Jermuk overnight and renewing shelling with artillery and mortars in the morning in the direction of Jermuk and the village of Verin Shorzha.

Armenia says 49 soldiers killed in attacks by Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) — Azerbaijani forces shelled Armenia’s territory Tuesday and killed at least 49 Armenian soldiers, Armenia’s prime minister said, a large-scale attack that fueled fears of broader hostilities breaking out between the longtime adversaries.

The hostilities erupted minutes after midnight, with Azerbaijani forces unleashing an artillery barrage and drone attacks in many sections of Armenian territory, according to the Armenian Defense Ministry.

Fireworks blast at Yerevan market kills 1, injures 36

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) — A strong explosion at a fireworks storage area tore through a popular market in Armenia’s capital on Sunday, killing at least one person, injuring 36 others and setting off a large fire.

More than three hours after the early afternoon blast at the Surmalu market, firemen labored to put out the blaze that sent a towering column of smoke over the center of Yerevan. Rescue workers and volunteers in civilian clothes searched for victims who might be trapped under slabs of concrete and twisted metal.

Armenian, Azeri presidents instruct foreign ministers to start peace talks preparations

YEREVAN, April 7. /TASS/: The trilateral meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took place in Brussels, the press service of the Armenian government announced on Thursday.

The Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan instructed the Foreign Ministers to start preparations for peace talks between the two countries, the press service added.

Armenia to talk to Russia about Azeri cutoff of gas supply to Karabakh

YEREVAN, March 23. /TASS/: Armenia has been discussing with its international partners, in particular with Russia, the issue of the gas supply being cut off to Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said on Wednesday.

"We immediately made all our diplomatic efforts. Firstly, of course, we are in close contact with our Russian colleagues, since we know that a damaged or closed gas pipeline is the peacekeepers’ area of responsibility," Mirzoyan noted.

Armenia: Yerevan turns to OSCE Minsk Group to negotiate peace deal with Baku

YEREVAN, March 14. /TASS/: Armenia turned to the OSCE Minsk Group to arrange negotiations on signing a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

"Armenia responded to Azerbaijan's proposals and appealed to the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to organize negotiations on a peace treaty between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan on the basis of the UN Charter, the Helsinki Final Act and the International Charter on Political and Civil Rights," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
