Awarding 2500 US Green Cards during nuclear talks sheer lie

Tehran, Aug 5, IRNA – Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi on Sunday strongly denied awarding some 2500 US Green Cards to Iranian officials and their children during nuclear talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and G5+1.

'Alavi attended on Sunday to Majlis and answered to the questions posed by two MPs,' member of Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy commission Ali Najafi Khoshrodi quoted Alavi as saying in an open session of the parliament.

Forex for basic goods, pharmaceuticals to be provided at official rate

Iran's IRGC confirms staging naval drill in Gulf

TEHRAN, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed on Sunday that it held a military drill in the Gulf this week with the aim of securing the strategic waterway and deterring potential threats posed by the enemies, state TV reported.

The exercise was conducted within the framework of the IRGC's annual exercises program, IRGC spokesman Ramezan Sharif was quoted as saying by Press TV.

Iran to sue U.S. for banning imports of handwoven Iranian rugs

TEHRAN, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Iran will file a lawsuit with international tribunals against U.S. fresh sanctions on importing handwoven Iranian rugs, Press TV reported Saturday.

U.S. President Donald Trump "has wrongly sanctioned the art industry, which is a symbol of culture and intellectual property of the Iranian people," said Fereshteh Dastpak, head of Iran National Carpet Center.

"According to international protocols, what belongs to a nation could not be sanctioned," Dastpak noted.

Roundup: Iran's top leader rejects talks with U.S., urges negotiations with EU

TEHRAN, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday said that any negotiation with the United States to solve the existing mutual problems is an "obvious mistake," official IRNA news agency reported.

Khamenei also said that negotiations with the Europeans should continue to secure Iran's interests from the 2015 international nuclear deal.

Iran Slams India for Not Fulfilling Promised Investments in Chabahar Port Project

Iran on Tuesday criticized India for not fulfilling its promise of making investments in the expansion of the strategically located Chabahar Port.

“It is unfortunate that Indian investment promises for the expansion of Chabahar Port and its connectivity projects have not been accomplished. India is expected to take immediate and necessary measures in this regard if its cooperation and engagement in Chabahar Port are of strategic nature,” Iran’s Deputy Ambassador and Charge d’Affaires Masoud Rezvanian Rahaqi said.
