Pakistan: Will be back on streets once I fully recover: ex-PM Khan

04 Nov 2022; MEMO: Pakistan's former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, who was shot and wounded during his anti-government protest march on Thursday, has said he will be back on the streets once he recovers fully, Anadolu News Agency reports.

"As soon as I get well, I have decided to take to the streets and will give the call for Islamabad," Khan told a press conference from a hospital in Lahore on Friday.

Ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan injured in assassination attempt

03 Nov 2022; MEMO: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was shot in the shin today when his anti-government protest convoy came under attack in the east of the country in what his aides said was a clear assassination attempt, Reuters reports.

Several others in the convoy were wounded and the information minister said a suspect had been arrested. One party member said there were reports one person had been killed.

US has made Pakistan a slave without invading it: Imran Khan

Lahore, May 16 (PTI) The US has made Pakistan a slave without invading it, ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed, asserting that the people will never accept an "imported government."

Khan, the 69-year-old cricketer-turned-politician, was voted out of power last month through a no-confidence motion, which he alleges was plotted by the US with the help of local players over his pursuance of an independent foreign policy.

Pakistan: Police Arrest Four Terrorists In Lahore

ISLAMABAD, Feb 27 (NNN-APP) – The Police in Pakistan’s east Punjab province, arrested four terrorists in separate operations in the provincial city of Lahore yesterday, police sources said.

The counter-terrorism department of the province’s police, launched the operations by acting on intelligence, regarding the presence of high-profile terrorists in their sleeper cells in the city, the sources said.

The terrorists were arrested from their hideouts, and arms and ammunition were also seized, said the sources.

Turkey, Pakistan top military officials discuss regional security

28 Dec 2021; MEMO: The visiting Turkish land forces head met with the Pakistani army chief on Monday to discuss various issues, including defense cooperation and regional security, reports Anadolu Agency.

The meeting between Lt. Gen. Veli Tarakci, the chief of General Staff of Turkish Land Forces, and Pakistan Army Chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa was held at the army headquarters in the northeastern garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Pakistan: Punjab CM-led group offers payers at Kartarpur gurdwara

Pakistan: Eight terrorists arrested in Punjab province

Lahore, Sep 26 (PTI) Eight terrorists belonging to four organisations, including Islamic State and TTP, have been arrested from various parts of Pakistan's Punjab province, police said here on Sunday.

In the wake of the recent wave of terror activities across Pakistan, particularly target killing of police officials, the Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab Police conducted extensive intelligence-based operations in the province during the last one week and interrogated 40 terror suspects, they said.

Indian Intelligence Agency RAW blamed for Pakistan’s Johar Town blast

Islamabad; 04 July 2021 (UMMN): Pakistan has blamed Indian RAW, the foreign intelligence agency of India, for last month’s blast in Lahore's Johar Town that killed three people including a six year old, and injured 24 others including a police constable. The explosion left a four-foot-deep and eight-foot-wide crater on the road and damaged several houses and shops nearby.

National Security Adviser Dr Moeed Yusuf called it "Indian-sponsored terrorism".

Pakistani police raid kills 3 suspected Baloch separatists

Multan, Feb 3 (AP-PTI) Pakistani police on Wednesday raided a suspected hideout of an outlawed separatist group in eastern Punjab province, triggering a shootout that killed three insurgents, authorities said.

According to a statement by Kamran Hussain, an official with the counter-terrorism department, officers also seized a cache of weapons allegedly belonging to "terrorists from the outlawed Balochistan Republican Army."

The group is known for targeting Pakistani troops, police and gas pipelines in southwestern Balochistan province.

PAF aircraft crashes during routine training; pilot ejects safely

Lahore, Sep 15 (PTI) A Pakistan Air Force aircraft on Tuesday crashed during a routine training mission, while its pilot ejected safely in Punjab province's Attock district, making it a fifth such incident this year, according to media reports.

A statement by the air force said that no loss of life or property was reported at the site and the pilot ejected safely before the crash in Pindigheb area of the district, Geo TV reported.
