Ukraine official says any investigation would be transparent: report

KIEV (Reuters) - An aide to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was quoted on Monday as saying any investigation in Ukraine would be conducted transparently, after U.S. media reports said President Donald Trump asked Zelenskiy to investigate Joe Biden, a rival in next year’s U.S. election.

Trump’s July 25 call with Zelenskiy stoked controversy in Washington after reports that Trump repeatedly asked the Ukrainian leader to investigate whether Biden, the Democratic front-runner in next year’s election, misused his position when he was vice president.

Ukraine’s defense concern mulls selling unfinished missile cruiser

KIEV, September 20. /TASS/: Ukraine’s state-run defense concern Ukroboronprom is considering the possibility of selling the unfinished Ukraina missile cruiser, currently kept at the Nikolayev Shipyard, the company’s press service said.

"There’s no need for Ukraine to have a cruiser of this size, that’s why we will consider the possibility of selling this cruiser. We will build new ships: of a smaller size but in bigger numbers, according to the needs of our armed forces," the press service quoted Ukroboronprom head Aivaras Abromavicius as saying in an interview with DW.

Ukraine’s Zelensky appoints new head of Foreign Intelligence Service

KIEV, September 20. /TASS/: Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has appointed Valery Yevdokimov Director of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service, the executive order was published on the president’s official website on Friday.

"To appoint Valery Yevdokimov Chairperson of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine," the document says.

Yevdokimov previously served as deputy chairperson of the service.

Kiev starts preparations for disengagement of forces along line of contact

KIEV, September 18. /TASS/: Commander of the so-called Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in Donbass Vladimir Kravchenko stated that the Ukrainian side started preparations for the withdrawal of the army along the entire contact line in the east of the country. According to the JFO headquarters, he made this statement on Wednesday at a meeting with Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine Osnat Lubrani in Kiev.

Ukraine’s Zelensky vows to fight for Crimea "not only with words"
