Postpone Non-Essential Travel To Catalonia Region, Spain – Malaysia’s FM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (NNN-Bernama) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Malaysians to postpone non-essential travel to the Catalonia region in Spain.

Wisma Putra (Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry) in a statement Wednesday said the advice was issued given the current circumstances in the area, where there have been major protests which began on Oct 13, 2019.

“Malaysians who are visiting Barcelona and the Malaysian community residing in Catalonia are advised to give utmost priority to their safety and avoid the areas of rallies and demonstrations.

More Than 70,000 Visitors On First Day Of Saudi Falcons And Hunting Show 2019

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Oct 12 (NNN-SPA) – The Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2019, received today, more than 70,000 visitors on the first day of its launching.

Facade of Riyadh is currently hosting the Saudi Falcons and Hunting Show in its 2nd edition.

Organised by the Falcon Club, the exhibition’s wings and sections were crowded from the early hours of its launch.

The exhibition will last until next Tuesday, and receive visitors daily for 12 hours a day, from 12.00 noon to 12.00 midnight.

Iran repairs Kara Kelisa; world’s first church

Orumiyeh, Oct 5, IRNA - Iran repairs Kara (Qare) Kelisa (meaning black church), known as the first church built in the world after the martyrdom of Saint Thaddeus over his tomb. It is located about 20 kilometers from the town of Chaldoran in northwestern Iranian province of West Azarbaijan.

Qara Kelisa, also known as the St. Thaddeus Church, in Chaldoran County, northwestern Iran is one of the oldest and most notable surviving Christian monuments of Iran that carries great significance for the country's Armenian Orthodox community.

Saudi Arabia opens to tourists with investment appeal and no abaya rule

RIYADH, Sept 27 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Saudi Arabia threw open its doors to foreign tourists, launching a new visa regime for 49 countries and appealing to foreign companies to invest in a sector it hopes will contribute 10 per cent of gross domestic product by 2030.

The ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom, relatively closed off for decades, has in recent years relaxed strict social codes, like segregating men and women in public places and requiring women to wear all-covering black robes, or abayas.

India: Singapore eyes over a million visitor arrivals from India in 2019

New Delhi, Sep 15 (PTI) Singapore is looking at continuing the four year trend of having over a million visitor arrivals from India in the current year as it undertakes a number of measures to hard sell the country as a preferred destination.

India is currently the third largest source market for visitor arrivals to Singapore, a senior tourism board official said.

British Airways says almost all UK flights cancelled over strike

London, Sept 9 (AFP) British Airways said Monday it has been forced to cancel almost all its UK flights on the first day of a two-day strike by pilots.

"After many months of trying to resolve the pay dispute, we are extremely sorry that it has come to this," BA said in a statement.

The airline said it remains willing to return to talks with the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA).

Industry Minister Opens Largest Underwater Theme Park In Bahrain

MANAMA, Sept 7 (NNN-BNA) – Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, officially inaugurated the largest underwater theme park, Dive Bahrain, which was announced by Personal Representative of the King, Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Environment.

The initial phase of the project has been completed recently, by submerging a 70-metre long Boeing 747, 20-22 metres below the water North of Bahrain, to become the first attraction of the 100,000 m2 theme park area.

India: 30 flights cancelled at Mumbai airport, 118 delayed

Mumbai, Sep 5 (PTI) Flight operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) here were affected for the second day with cancellation of 30 flights and another 118 getting delayed on Thursday.

As per a live flight-tracking website, 14 incoming and 16 outbound flights were cancelled on Thursday. In addition, 118 flights were delayed, including 86 departure.

In a brief statement, Mumbai International Airport Airport Ltd (MIAL) said that "operations are normal".

Kartarpur corridor: 3rd round of talks between India, Pak at Attari

Attari (Amritsar), Sep 4 (PTI) The third round of meeting between delegates of India and Pakistan to discuss and finalise the draft agreement for the operationalistaion of the Kartarpur corridor for Sikh pilgrims was underway here on Wednesday, officials said.

A 20-member Pakistani delegation crossed over to India for the joint secretary-level meeting at Attari in Amritsar, they said.
