U.S. deposits 43-mln-dollar compensation in Iran's account at Dutch bank

TEHRAN, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- The United States has deposited 43 million U.S. dollars in compensation for violating its obligations toward Tehran in Iran's account at a Dutch bank in the Netherlands under a ruling by the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported on Sunday.

“The action of the Nobel Peace Committee is political move in line with the interventionist and anti-Iranian policies of some European governments,” Ministry spokesperson, Nasser Kanaani, said.

Iranian, Saudi FMs call for accelerating bilateral cooperation

TEHRAN, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud stressed the necessity for accelerating the development of bilateral cooperation in different areas, according to a statement published on the Iranian Foreign Ministry's website on Friday.

In a phone conversation on Thursday night, the two foreign ministers called for expanding Tehran-Riyadh cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, investment and tourism, and discussed issues of common interest.

Iran to add 791 metro cars to Tehran subway

Tehran, IRNA – The acting deputy director of transportation and traffic of Tehran Municipality has said that the contract to buy 791 metro cars is the largest contract in the history of Tehran’s metro.

Referring to the allocation of $1 billion for purchasing metro cars with the help of the 13th government in Iran, Mohsen Hormozi said that the contract to buy 791 metro cars is the largest contract in the history of Tehran’s metro.

He expressed hope that the first metro cars will be delivered to the municipality of Tehran in the next year.

03 October 2023; MEMO: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that countries seeking to normalise relations with Israel “are betting on a losing horse”, state media reported on Tuesday.

"The definite position of the Islamic Republic is that countries that make the gamble of normalisation with Israel will lose. They are betting on a losing horse" Khamenei said, Reuters reports.

Iran Supports Nagorno-Karabakh’s Return To Azerbaijan

TEHRAN, Oct 3 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, said yesterday, the country has always supported the return of the Nagorno-Karabakh region to Azerbaijan.

He made the remarks at a weekly press conference in the Iranian capital Tehran, when commenting on Iran’s positions towards the latest developments in the Caucasus region.

Iran urges Swedish gov't to take action against Quran desecrations

Iran’s Mar-Sept Foreign Tourist Arrivals Climbed 38 Percent Y-O-Y

TEHRAN, Sept 26 (NNN-ISNA) – More than 3.35 million foreign tourists visited Iran between Mar 21 and Sept 22, the first half of the Iranian calendar year, up by 38 percent, over the same period last year, an Iranian official said yesterday.

Ali Asghar Shalbafian, Iranian deputy minister of cultural heritage, handicrafts, and tourism, made the remarks at a press conference, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, ahead of World Tourism Day, which falls on Sept 27 (tomorrow), and the National Tourism Week.
