India: Facility of air service extending for passengers from Kanpur

Kanpur: It is a big accomplishment of the city that it has now been connected with direct air service to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi respectively.

Cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, and Bareilly, remains available from Kanpur as well. The service has repeatedly begun on September 15, this year.

Passengers say they are happy with the new arrangement of the air service. If the facilities are increasing day by day it should be welcomed with a good gesture.

Orthodox monastery in Turkey’s Black Sea region open to visitors after restoration

12 Sep 2021; AA: An Orthodox monastery in Turkey’s Black Sea province of Trabzon has reopened to visitors after restorations.

Panagia Keramesta, also known as Kizlar (Girls) Monastery in Turkey, is believed to be constructed during the reign of then-Byzantine Emperor Alexios III (1349–1390), and took its final shape in the 19th century after several renovations over the centuries.

Ancient Hittite temple in Turkey's central Anatolia to be unearthed

12 Sep 2021; AA: Archaeological excavations will be carried out to unearth one of the most important temples of the Hittites in Kayalipinar, a 3,800-year-old ancient city in Turkey’s central Sivas province.

"There are many monumental structures and administrative buildings here. Those structures show us the importance of this place in both the Old Assyrian and Hittite periods. So there is a lot for a visitor to see here," Cigdem Maner, an archeologist at Koc University in Istanbul, told Anadolu Agency.

India: UPMRC conducts traffic diversion mock drill today

Kanpur: A mock drill of traffic diversion was conducted at Bada Chauraha here on Sunday.  As many as 24 marshalls were deployed for the 0urpose. It will continue between 4 pm and 8 pm today, inform the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation officials.

The UP metro rail officials completed it in two separate shifts thereby causing it in the morning and night hours.

The work of the second phase will begin here. An underground metro station will be set up at Bada Chauraha. It will be stretched between Z Square Mall and DCB Bank.

India-Bangladesh air bubble flights to resume next week

New Delhi, Aug 28 (PTI) Flights between India and Bangladesh under the bilateral air bubble arrangement will resume from September 3, according to the civil aviation ministry.

With scheduled international passenger flights to and from India remaining suspended since March last year, India has entered into air bubble arrangements with various countries, including Bangladesh, for operating flights.

India: Delhi govt developing app to help tourists

New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday said information on all tourist spots in the national capital will be available on a mobile application being developed by the government's Tourism department.

The app will also provide all necessary services to tourists, he said.

"Reviewed the Delhi Tourism's upcoming mobile app. Tourists' travel experiences in Delhi will be transformed with this app, which will provide them with all the services they need in one click," Sisodia said in a tweet.

India: Jhakarkatti Bus Depot needs basic facilities for passengers

Kanpur: Inspection, order, maintenance and plan are the appropriate words swirling for the past four years.Required improvements of the inter-state Jhkarkatti bus depot remains a distant dream.

However, R Singh, ARM, Bus Depot, said that the development work got halted due to the bridge construction. Passengers' troubles were resolved from time to time. A letter for maintenance of the outside road was sent to the officers concerned.

Around 175,000 Russia tourists arrive in Turkey's Antalya in 8 days

10 July 2021; MEMO: Between 1 and 8 July, 644 flights from Russia have landed in the Turkish city of Antalya carrying 174,808 Russian tourists, Anadolu Agency reported on Friday.

Since the start of the year, more than two million tourists have arrived in Antalya, according to Fraport TAV Antalya Airport General Manager Deniz Varol.

First post-pandemic cruise ship from US sails away

Fort Lauderdale (US), Jun 27 (AP-PTI) The first cruise ship to leave a US port since the coronavirus pandemic brought the industry to a 15-month standstill sailed away on Saturday with nearly all vaccinated passengers on board.

Celebrity Edge departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at 6 pm with the number of passengers limited to about 40 per cent capacity, and with nearly all 1,100 passengers vaccinated against COVID-19.
