26 June 2019; MEMO: A parliamentary bloc in Jordan has adopted a memorandum of distrust against the government of Prime Minister Omar Razzaz due to its participation in the Bahrain workshop, which will lay out the economic aspect of the deal of the century.

The parliamentary reform bloc, which is affiliated to the Islamic Movement in Jordan, conveyed a message in a statement to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, condemning Jordan’s participation in the Bahrain conference.

AMMAN, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of Jordanians took to the street on Friday voicing rejection of upcoming Bahrain workshop and the new U.S. Mideast peace plan known as the Deal of the Century.

The participants called for severing ties with Israel and annulling the peace treaty which Jordan and Israel signed in 1994, at a demonstration held in downtown Amman, capital of Jordan, by the Islamic movement in Jordan.

AMMAN, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The international Annual Warrior Competition, created and hosted by Jordan, started on Sunday at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre (KASOTC) , state-run Petra news agency reported.

The competition, which features 39 teams from 27 countries, played a key role in bringing the best teams from across the world to compete and learn from each other and exchange expertise, said KASOTC Director General Omar Shugeirat.

The competition provides an opportunity to build partnerships and friendships, he added.

AMMAN, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Participants in the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) 2019 concluded on Sunday, calling on stakeholders to increase collaboration on social, economic and climate issues to address regional challenges.

"Building new platforms of collaboration is about providing space for people to think through the economic and social model, the environment and humanitarian emergencies in a multistakeholder way," said Mirek Dusek, head of MENA region of the World Economic Forum.

AMMAN, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Jordan is in negotiations to get 1.2-billion-U.S.-dollar soft loan from the World Bank to support its fiscal and economic reforms at low interest rate, the state-run Petra news agency reported Monday.

Jordan's Minister of Finance Ezzeddine Kanakrieh said the loan will not add any burden on Jordan's public debt as it will be used to pay some outstanding debts and it will help reduce the percentage of the public debt to the gross domestic product.

AMMAN, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi said on Sunday that France and Jordan agreed that the lack of a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict threatens the security of Middle East.

At a joint press conference with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian in Amman, Safadi said the two countries believe that lack of a solution could lead to eruption of crises in the region, said a statement by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry.

PETRA, Jordan (AP) — The death toll from flash floods in Jordan rose to 12 on Saturday and the kingdom’s main tourist attraction, the ancient city of Petra, was closed for cleanup after what local officials said was the biggest deluge in the area in decades.

Friday’s floods struck several areas of Jordan. Rescuers continued the search for missing people around the Wala reservoir in central Jordan on Saturday. In the southern town of Maan, authorities opened a shelter for dozens of people whose homes were surrounded by water.

AMMAN, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan said the kingdom's position on the Palestinian cause is unwavering and injustice against the Palestinians must end.

The king made his remarks at the opening of the 3rd ordinary session of the 18th Parliament, where he said it is a must to enable the Palestinians to establish their independent, sovereign state on the 1967 border, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On the war on terrorism, King Abdullah said Jordan remains committed to its leading role in fighting terrorism and extremism.

AMMAN, Jordan, July 23 (NNN-PETRA) - Jordan, on Sunday, condemned Israel's repeated violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs, Jumana Ghunaimat, said, Jordan strongly condemns Israel's violations and provocations, especially radical settlers breaking into the yards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli police.

The minister said, such practices are condemned and rejected, as they violated all laws.
